Joshua Vasquez

Hi! I’m Joshua Vasquez, an aspiring communications professional in Houston with experience in strategic messaging, content creation, digital communications and community engagement. I currently work as an Assistant News Editor at The Daily Cougar, where I help manage newsroom workflow, coordinate coverage and support writers and photographers as we report on impactful campus and community stories. This role has strengthened my skills in leadership, editing and audience-focused communication and it has helped me understand how messaging shapes the way people connect with information. I also serve as Director of Communications for Iglesia Bethania Houston. In this role, I oversee digital communication, create graphics and promotional materials, develop messaging guides, photograph events and support media responses during community initiatives. Working with a growing organization has fueled my interest in public relations, brand communication and helping organizations tell their stories clearly and authentically. I’m fluent in English and Spanish, conversational in French and experienced with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Airtable, Google Workspace and Office 365. I am also well versed in AP Style. Whether I’m writing copy, designing content or coordinating communication workflows, I value clarity, connection and communicating in a way that makes a real difference. I’m excited to continue growing in PR, strategic communications, marketing and content development. I hope to bring together creativity, strategy and community-centered storytelling in every role I take on.
